Dr. Whitney McConnell |
Dr. Whitney Ellis McConnell was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia. She went on to receive her undergraduate education from the University of Georgia. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, she earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University. She then completed a demanding four-year surgical residency at Temple University Hospital, a level-one trauma center in Philadelphia. During residency she enjoyed performing complex reconstruction as well as advanced limb salvage.
Dr. McConnell specializes in complicated deformity reconstruction (forefoot and hindfoot), foot and ankle trauma, diabetic limb salvage, pediatric deformities, arthroscopy, and sports medicine. In addition to treating complex deformities, she also enjoys taking care of everyday foot and ankle pathologies including bunions and hammertoes. Her clinical approach is comprehensive. She is a firm believer is attempting various conservative approaches prior to any surgical intervention. In her free time, Dr. McConnell enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Stephen McConnell and their son, Stephen Michael. She also enjoys the outdoors, impressionist art, and sewing.
